Pârșul Moni (meaning Moni the Dormouse) is my bachelor degree project. It is an illustrated children's book that I designed. Written by Raluca Poenaru, the book tells the story of a small sleepy dormouse that struggles to find his motivation and meaning in life. He embarks on an adventure to find the famous coffee beans he heard can help him stay awake. In his travels he meets a bunch of different animals that teach him valuable life lessons, that later on turn out to save him.
The project consisted in designing the book and then painting the illustrations. I used watercolor, ink and colored pencils on paper. Then I scanned and digitally processed them.
I also painted the titles of each chapter, in order to tie them together with the illustrations.
Each chapter starts with a small comic book style illustration that shows the progress of an action or situation in 4 frameworks.
